Founded in 1885, the Order of the Daughters of the King® (DOK) is an international sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. Members of this order have made a commitment to Jesus as their Savior, and follow Him as Lord of their lives. The DOK includes communicants of the Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA) and Roman Catholic churches.
An Order is a community under a religious rule, requiring members to take solemn vows. Members do something more than “join” the DOK; after a period of disciplined discernment, they make life-long promises to follow the Order’s Rule of Prayer and Rule of Service.
St. John’s Chapter of the DOK, "the Daughters of the Holy Spirit," is a growing group of women who oversee and serve a wide variety of ministries to the people of Troy, engage in regular study and formation together, and pray for the people of our community.
