Chimers

Andy is our Head Chimer. Although he is no longer able to join us regularly on Sunday mornings, he still chimes for special events like the Victorian Stroll, and some of our most important services, including Christmas Eve and Easter. We are grateful for his ongoing involvement and leadership.

Jason is our regular weekly chimer. His daughter, Lydia, began chiming in 2013 and faithfully served in that role until she left for college. Jason then stepped in to continue the ministry, helping ensure that the church bells remain a regular part of our Sunday worship.

Lydia began chiming at just 10 years old. Her interest in the bells led her to complete a Girl Scout Gold Award project focused on preserving and sharing their history. As part of that project, she produced a documentary about the bells, which can be viewed in the Music section of this website, and transposed the entire Hymnal 1982 for performance on St. John's chime set. Although Lydia no longer chimes regularly while pursuing her music studies away from home, she still enjoys returning to the tower and playing the bells whenever she is able.
