Montgomery, J. Robert NORTH GREENBUSH J. Robert Montgomery, age 82 years, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany with his loving family at his side. He was born in Waterford and has resided in North Greenbush since 1959 and was the son of the late Thayer and Verne Montgomery. He was a 1948 graduate of Waterford High School and 1971 graduate of Siena College Cum Laude. Bob worked for 38 years for the former Manning Paper Co., now Lydall in Green Island and retired as assistant controller in 1987. He was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church in Troy, where he was a vestry member, financial advisor, treasurer, choir member, Sunday school teacher and Boy Scout leader. Bob was a member of Hendrick Hudson Male Chorus, enjoyed bowling with several senior leagues, attending his grandchildren's activities and family activities at his summer camp on Hedges Lake. Husband of Marie Anderson Montgomery whom he married on February 6, 1954; father of Deborah (John) DeLuca of Athens and Susan (Frank) Tessier of Ballston Spa; grandfather of Michelle, Nicole and Frank Tessier and Michael (Erica) DeLuca; brother of the late J. Burton Montgomery. Funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 146 1st St., Troy. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer Friday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
