Interim Rector

The Rev. Christina Hunter

Mother Christina Hunter was named interim rector of St. John's in February 2019, after serving as our supply priest since August of 2018. From 2010 to 2018 she worked as an urban missionary and church planter at Oaks of Righteousness in North Central Troy. A former journalist, Mother Christina received her Master's of Divinity from Trinity School for Ministry in 2010. She and her husband Paul have two young children.

In addition to Sunday morning, when we have two services, Mother Christina is generally available according to the schedule below. Please try to give her a holler via phone or email to make sure the time isn’t already scheduled for something else.

Tuesday: 12 pm - 5 pm

Wednesday: 7am - 4pm (including service at 7:30 am)

Thursday: 12 pm - 5 pm

Friday: 12 pm - 5 pm

Saturday: 7:15 am - 12:15 pm

The Rev. Paul M. Carney

Deacon Paul and his wife Marilyn have two adult children, Sarah E. McClane and Paul A. Carney. Deacon Paul is a 36 year veteran of the Troy Police Department and serves as Department and Union Chaplain. He also serves on the Commission On Ministry, Clergy Disiplinary Board and the Deacons' Advisory Board for the Episcopal Diocese of Albany.

The Rev. Sandra Tatem

Deacon Sandy and her husband, Deacon Bill Tatem, have been married for 56 years. They have three children, Christopher, Philip (married to Joanne) and Catherine; and two granddaughters, Whitney and Amanda. Deacon Sandy is an ardent football fan with never-ending hope for the Buffalo Bills. In her secular life, she  serves as Vice-President, Finance, for Stuyvesant Plaza, Inc. She was a public school business manager prior to her relocation to the Capital District in 1982.

Katie has been serving St. John's for ten years, and has been involved in Youth Ministry for almost twice as long as that. She is mom to Tara Mae, her lovely daughter. She greatly enjoys the theater and reading.

Andrew S. Mace

  Send Email

At the ripe old age of four years, Andy Mace first came with his family to St. John's in 1957. He's been a member of the Choir since 1961, a chimer since about 1965, and a member of various committees since. Father of Sarah and Ian, Andy is a librarian by profession as well as a bit of an historian and Triumph car collector as hobbies.
